Shopping
Each terminal within JFK has a wide range of shops and stores, with most regular items available to buy as well as some more gift based options.
Duty Free
The duty free shops at JFK International Airport can be found in each of the terminals, operated by a couple of different companies but all providing a similar range of products, all at greatly reduced prices.
Bars & Restaurants
From a quick coffee at Starbucks and a burger at McDonalds or Burger King through to The Grove restaurant and even an Irish pub, JFK caters for all tastes. Again each of the terminals has it’s own food and drink options, plus the Central terminal, which is full of places to eat and drink and is the perfect meeting place.
ATMs – Cash Machines & Foreign Currency Exchange
Cash machines (ATMs) are found throughout the airport, making access to cash no problem. There are also currency exchange desks in all of the terminals, operated either by American Express or Travelex.
Medical Support
Medical support is on hand day and night, which is understandable considering the volume of passengers going through the airport. There are paramedics available for the general accident issues that arise plus a privately operated doctor service, so make sure the travel insurance is in place before calling them. Their number is 877 535 3627, which may be remembered more easily as 877 JFK DOCS. They can pick up patients from anywhere in the airport and take them to the medical centre.
In addition Terminal 4 does have a pharmacy, where more simple requirements can be met. It is open from 7am until 11pm.
Web Access
Internet access is provided in Terminal 8 and Terminal 9, with PC’s set up offering web connectivity. Wi-Fi hotspots are also on their way, being rolled out currently.
